Central Backup: Purging

Hello,

Since Central Backups does not purge old files or even delete files from terminated containers at all. I wanted to setup a cron that would delete all files that are older than 180 days inside of /home/backup/*. Which i can do easily, However We need a way to purge the backups from inside of solusvm itself. This way we don't have people trying to backup from phantom CBs. Please advise.

CentOS 5.9 iSCSI HELP!

So basically i need help with iscsi setup between my centos 5.9 initiator, and my netapp target. I believe all the settings on my netapp are correct, i have no security set up as well on it. Please what would the settings be on my initiator? i tried just logging in and it does but i cant seem to see the iscsi disk on fdisk -l . Thanks!

centos 6.x trying to upgrade openVZ

Having a small little problem.
When i run yum upgrade on the HW node i get the following errrors:

would it be safe to yum remove kernel-firmware-2.6.32-358.6.2.el6.noarch

So we have an issue with whmcs/solusvm module

After a client pays for the vps, and Whmcs creates it, but it doesnt auto populate the vserverid and consoleusername / consolepassword

Any idea why this is happening?

If we go to the services tab and manually create it, it auto populates the vserid and username/pass

I trying to reinstall the server with different types of OS and still Im getting the same error.

I have a dedicated server setup as

I have installed the Slave, and was attempting to add it a a Virtual Host, however I a getting a "No Volume Group Found"

I tried to create the LMV but it keeps erroring out/

[root@ds1 ~]# vgcreate LVM /dev/sda3 /dev/sdb1
No physical volume label read from /dev/sda3
Can't open /dev/sda3 exclusively. Mounted filesystem?
Unable to add physical volume '/dev/sda3' to volume group 'LVM'.

Any help would be deeply appreciated

i have installed solusvm master on a vps and then installed solusvm slave with kvm on a dedicated server as shown here http://docs.solusvm.com/installation#installing_a_slave

and i have setup the bredige network as shown here http://docs.solusvm.com/kvm_bridge_setup

and when i make a vps i can't boot this vps so please help me in that matter

hi im trying to migrate vms between nodes/slaves

works ok, but when i run vmmigrate nodeid slaveid it says ID not found.

the vm is on the new node, but in solusvm its showing as on the old node..

what am i doing wrong?

i have a big Server (DualXeon + 128G RAM + 4TB DISK) that Have vMware ESXi5 Installed as Visualization Infrastructure !

i have some Questions :

Could i Create all SolusVM required Servers and hardware ( Master , Slave , .... ) as VM on that ESX host ?
iwant to manage VPS form WHMCS and also i dont want to reformat the server with any other OS and want to activate SolusVM as NESTed VM

could You Please help me
is this Possible ?
if yes what shall i do ( a step by step Guide without long description ) please just tell what step i have to do ill find the description in WIKI !

we have customers with both Windows ( 2003 and 2008 ) and Linux ( CentOS and Ubunto )
with method is better if i run SolusVM and Virtulization as a nested vm on ESX ?

Internal Networking Issue

OK this is a slightly different setup and hopefully someone else is using a similar sort of thing...

We currently have a private vLAN available to any of our servers in the data centre on the IP range 172.16.x.x. We are reviewing our backup strategies for the network and would like to add the SolusVM VMs into the mix.

Now I have managed to setup a host node with an internal IP bridge and also added an internal IP to the VM on the host node.

I can ping both ways between the host node and VM but I cannot ping from the host node to another non-solus server on the vLAN nor ping the host node from another non-solus server.

I have the host node and VMs setup in the range 172.16.0.x as are the other servers on our network. Ideally though I would like to use 172.16.1.x for the Solus Hosts and VMs.

I think the reason why the non-solus servers cannot access the host node is because the secondary nic in the host node is bridged so the VMs can access it. Or I could be wrong and I've messed up somewhere! The host nodes all run Centos/Xen by the way, the VMs are a mixture of Linux flavours and Windows...

Any thoughts?

Hello,

on all OpenVZ containers on one node i get always "An error occurred processing your request. The host is currently unavailable. Please try again later" when logged into the client area. Containers are reachable and the node is running fine (settings can be performed, reading container status in admin panel).

Would be very nice of someone helps me :D

Hi All,

I am currently running solusVM in a virtual machine under ScientificLinux 6.3 x86_64. It's a clean install, and after running the install script to install the master (without openvz), I get the login screen at http://ip:5353/admincp. Unfortunately, trying to log in as vpsadmin/vpsadmin does not work. Interestingly enough, it doesn't show an error message as you would if you try an invalid user/password so I'm guessing it has something to do with php's session?

Any hints would be great. Thanks in advance.

Migrated Master, Change SolusVM slave PowerDNS IP?

I migrated my solusvm master to a new node, so the IP has obviously changed. I had PowerDNS setup on the old node (No real data in it yet, no loss to re-install totally), so what I am trying to do is either re-install powerdns for master replication, or fix the IP.

I have tried everything, and show slave status \G just keeps outputting the old master IP, even when removing the user, databases, etc. I am at a loss for how to change the IP to the new master.

What can I do to fix this?
